Border Patrol station opens in Clint

CLINT, Texas —

U.S. Border Patrol officials unveiled their newest station in the heart of Clint.

The state-of-the-art, energy-efficient Border Patrol station is a 51,000 square foot facility that helps create more energy that what it consumes, officials said.

"The opening of this new station represents the U.S. Border Patrol's commitment of ensuring the security of our nation's borders," said Scott A. Luck, chief patrol agent of the U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector. "Our ultimate goal is to improve the security of residents who reside in Clint, the surrounding communities and our nation."

A special dedication ceremony was held along with area residents.

Officials said the new facility will increase the Border Patrol's effectiveness in west Texas.
