Border Patrol Agents Make Biggest Bust Of The Year

Border patrol agents made biggest bust.

Border patrol agents said they seized more than 1.5 tons of marijuana just off Interstate 10 east in Fort Hancock.

Wednesday afternoon, a motorist pulling a utility trailer lost control of the vehicle and rolled over.

As border patrol agents told KFOX they approached the pickup truck, they said they noticed several cellophane wrapped bundles of marijuana.

The 18-year-old driver was not injured, and was taken into custody pending further investigation.

"Yes actually we've improved a lot. We've gotten more personnel out on the line, more infrastructure, and technology out there which is really helping us crack down on this type of problem," said Senior Patrol Agent Demetrio Guerro.

Value of the drug haul is estimated at $4.2 million.
