The Animal Rescue League tells us a blind dog that was found with two broken legs in an east El Paso dumpster last January has been adopted.

Jackpot is now staying with a family in Las Cruces, who are owners of another dog with special needs.

"I don't think there's anything better than taking in a dog that has special needs, that's not a puppy. I don't think any other dog warms your heart more than somebody that needs your attention and needs love and needs a forever home," says Julie Northrop, owner of both dogs.

Within the first three days at his new home, she says, Jackpot already knows where his bed is and can even find his box of toys all on his own.
