Baseball Concession Values: Major league more expensive?

By Joshua Zuber

A baseball game can be an expensive way to entertain the family during the summer.

The tickets aren't that bad. For an El Paso Diablos game, it costs $7 for general admission.

But what if the Diablos are no more, and the El Paso Padres take over?

Tickets for the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tucson will also cost $7.

Compare that to if you were to go to a San Diego Padres game: according to a Team Marketing report, tickets run just more than $15.

For hot dogs at Cohen Stadium, it's $2.75. In Tucson for a Padres game, it's $3.25. At a major league San Diego Padres game, it costs $4.

Grabbing a beer from the Diablos concessions runs $5.25 for a 16 oz. draft. The same size in Tucson is $4.75. At Petco Park in San Diego, it's $5 for a 14 oz. beer.

Of course, it's up to the team and concession company to set theprices.

The best value seems to depend on the specific item you buy.
