EL PASO, Texas —

As of Friday, the Lower Valley Water Board has given no public reason for their move terminating General Manager David Carrasco.

Carrasco's attorney, Mike King, said he believes the water board is trying to force Carrasco out of his position after Carrasco cooperated with FBI officials on an alleged FBI investigation.

"There never really was a reason," Carrasco said.

"David not only does his job, but does it well," King said. He said the board's actions are "highly improper".

KFOX14 also spoke with water district employees afraid to go on camera.

"The board has their favorites," said one employee.

"... Instead of just listening, they're pushing them out. It has nothing to do with work. They just don't like them," they went on to say.

KFOX14 approached Board President Rosalinda Vigil shortly before the vote, and she said she "cannot comment on personnel issues." KFOX14 tried to reach her Friday and she was still not available for comment.

KFOX14 reporter Lauren Rozyla also tried other board members at their homes and at their listed home phone numbers. No phone calls were returned as of Friday.

The board was not able to give any reason for the termination, instead referring KFOX14 to their attorneys, who declined to get in touch.
