Anti-Obama health rally to take place downtown

By Ruben Veloz

Hundreds of people are expected to rally against President Barack Obama's Health and Human Services Mandate, which forces all health employees and religious institutions, such as Catholic hospitals or universities, to offer contraceptives and sterilizations, such as birth control.

The rally will take place at the San Jacinto Plaza in downtown El Paso, and is expected to run from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday.

Many of the protesters say they are against this mandate because it goes against their religious freedoms.

This is the second such rally that will bring El Paso nationwide, joining 150 other cities across the country, such as New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

The rally is organized by the group "Stand Up For Religious Freedom," and will be joined by other pro-life citizens in the United States.

This rally is expected to draw even larger crowds than the previous one.

Protesters hope their efforts will convince Congress to reverse the health care mandate when they make a ruling in the future.
