EL PASO, Texas —

More details were revealed in the case of a 2-month old baby that died after being strapped into a car seat and left unattended.

As KFOX14 previously reported, police said Colton Soto died on Oct. 9 at an apartment complex off of Edgemere Boulevard in east El Paso. Emergency crews responded at 10:58 a.m. and found Colton unresponsive.

According to the complaint affidavit, Colton died of positional asphyxia for being in an upside-down position. Colton was strapped to an overturned car seat that was found at the bottom of a pile of pillows next to the bed.

The parents, 21-year-old Lindsey Hradek and 27-year-old Bobby Soto, did not notice the child had died until several hours later when they saw that the car seat had turned over, the affidavit said.

Soto and Hradek were found to have taken cocaine between an hour and 48 hours before a test was administered 12 hours following the 911 call.

The car seat was found to have the parent's names written on the labels, which had warnings against placing it on unstable surfaces and leaving a child unattended, the affidavit said.

On Friday, both Soto and Hradek were charged with injury to a child in the death of Colton Soto. Both were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on bonds of $50,000 each.
