EL PASO, Texas —
An 82-year-old woman hit by car over the weekend died as a result of the injuries she sustained.
Police identified the pedestrian as Antonia Casio Rivera of the 11700 block of Chito Samaniego.
Rivera was struck by a 2006 Lexus SUV when she was crossing George Dieter Street at a crosswalk on Saturday. Police said Rivera crossed at the same time Brian August, driver of Lexus, entered her path.
Rivera was taken to Del Sol Medical hospital. Police said August stayed on the scene until emergency crews arrived.
Since Rivera's death, investigators are now looking into the accident.
