7-Eleven Robbed Overnight

Daniel Novick-KFOX Morning News Reporter

El Paso has been hit by a number of aggravated robberies all throughout May, including one on the last day of the month.

Police told KFOX the 7-Eleven at 5001 Trowbridge was targeted by a robber shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday. A Hispanic man asked the store clerk if he could use the phone. While the man was using the phone, the clerk stepped out of sight for a few minutes. When he returned, the man allegedly asked for cigarettes and all the money in the register - about $80.

According to the clerk, the robber did not threaten him directly with a weapon, but did show the outline of a handgun under his waistband. He then left the store on foot.

The clerk was not injured.

El Paso police are looking for a suspect described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, approximately 120-130 lbs., with a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a football jersey with the number 12 printed on it, and long, dark blue shorts.

Anyone with information on this aggravated robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (915) 566-TIPS.
