By Jesse Martinez

EL PASO, Texas —

A 62-year-old man was taken to a hospital early Monday morning when he fell off his truck at the Western Refining Asphalt Plant, officials said.

Gary Hanson, a spokesperson for Western Refining, said the man was from another company who came to pick up asphalt from the plant. The man was on top of his truck and fell.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene around 4:30 a.m., and the man was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, according to fire officials.
