Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced Monday that Automatic Data Processing, Inc., more commonly known as ADP, will open a new facility in El Paso.

"These are good jobs that offer a salary range above the regional average ...offer comprehensive packages" said the governor.

ADP is an internationally respected company that will first open in downtown El Paso with 300 workers. It will then move to the westside in 2007, ultimately creating 1,000 new jobs.

"We want a location where we can hold onto and retain our associates" said Steve Penrose, ADP Senior Vice President.

Lizzie Libby moved to El Paso from California 11 months ago and is still job hunting. She welcomes the company.

Libby is highly-qualified and bilingual, but finding employment for this accountant has been challenging.

"They tell me how great (I am), over qualified (I am), all these things" said Libby.

However, Libby said the $7 to $8 dollars an hour with no benefits does not suffice, "The utilities, and my house, my savings are depleted."

The state of Texas is using $3 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund to lure ADP to El Paso.

The state is also providing $900,000 dollars workforce development funds to help train El Pasoans to ensure they'll have the skills they need to apply for ADP positions.

The company is having a hiring fair Wednesday.

It will be at 1359 Lomaland, in the Cactus Room from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
