EL PASO, Texas – City council approves to extend Pebble Hills Boulevard in far east El Paso.

The street will completely connect from east of Joe Battle Boulevard to where it intersects with Zaragoza Road.

The street will cut through some commercial property, but city leaders said the owner is all for the extension.

The extension aims to alleviate the traffic congestion in that area.

"Right now everybody who is trying to travel further west would have to go down further south and go through the intersection of Zaragoza, Montwood and Joe Battle increasing the congestion there. So, this is another aid to relieving and giving residents out there an opportunity for a different route," said city Rep. Michiel Noe.

That part of Pebble Hills Boulevard currently falls under El Paso County, but Noe said they will work with commissioners to annex the land into El Paso city limits.
