EL PASO, Texas - A 21-year-old driver was spotted speeding along Interstate 10 overnight Thursday.

El Paso police said Michael Cedillos was driving a Honda Civic at 90 mph in a 60 mph zone around midnight.

Cedillos ignored the police officer who tried pulling him over, said police spokesman Darrel Petry.

At one point, Cedillos turned off the lights on his car during the chase.

The chase ended at Gateway West and Lomaland Avenue. Cedillo was taken into custody after he was captured by police officers who chased him down on foot, according to Petry.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on charges of DWI with open alcohol container, evading arrest and for outstanding municipal court warrants – one of which was for speeding.
