EL PASO, Texas – Several severe thunderstorms produced heavy rain fall, gusty winds up to 60 mph, nickel sized hail and lightning for near six hours Wednesday night, according to El Paso's National Weather Service office and KFOX 14 Meteorologists.

A number of severe thunderstorm warnings, flood advisories and watches were issued as a result.

Also as a result, some roads were flooded.

Transmountain Road was closed Wednesday night around 11 p.m. and remains closed until further notice according to tweets from the Texas Department of Transportation office in El Paso.

According to the outage map from the El Paso Electric Co., some 3,000 people were without power from about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

"We were just out here having a cook out and then all of the sudden it just hit us. I mean hail, knocked over the grill, winds were crazy. And we've been without power for about five hours," Vince Nunez said.

EPE's website said crews were working to get power restored as soon as possible.
