EL PASO, Texas -- The proposed budget for El Paso International Airport is scheduled to remain flat for the upcoming fiscal year.

The city's aviation director presented her budget plan to the city council Wednesday.

Airport manager Monica Lambrana said that despite a flat budget, passengers will not see any reductions in services at the airport.

"We're doing our best in terms of controlling costs in light of the fact that we do have decreasing traffic. But we're doing very well in terms of our non-aviation development," Lambrana said.

As KFOX14 previously reported, a new 220-room hotel, which will most likely be a Wyndham property, will soon be built near the airport at the corner of Airway Boulevard and Boeing Drive.
