HORIZON, Texas -- Local law enforcement agencies are searching for a man they said absconded from a half-way house in Horizon.

Authorities said Mario Mungrillo, 41, was given permission to leave on April 22, 2014 from the Texas Workforce Commission on the 300 block of E Main in El Paso. Mungrillo was supposed to return to the El Paso Transitional Center in Horizon, but he never returned.

Mungrillo is now wanted on a parole violation warrant and has a forthcoming charge of 'sex offenders duty to register'. He is currently on parole for DWI and is a registered sex offender for a conviction of aggravated sexual assault of a child. The victim was a 6-year-old girl from Bexar County, TX.

Anyone with information on Mungrillo's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-TIPS (8477).
