SOCORRO, Texas - The City of Socorro mayor tells KFOX14 he hope the National Guard can offer help to his city.

KFOX14 reporter Stacey Welsh spoke with Mayor Jesus Ruiz Thursday morning after his city was effected by massive flooding when an arroyo came apart, causing flooding to residents.

Ruiz said that sandbags are available at 241 Old Hueco Tanks Road. Shelters have also been set up at Socorro High School and Rio Vista Community Center. Socorro mayor says they need National Guard help
