Which would you rather do: Play video games or exercise?

Now, thanks to an interactive video game device which doubles as exercise equipment, you don't have to make that difficult choice.

Kilowatt Pro is a device that connects to a television or a video game system like an X-Box, PlayStation, or Game Cube.

Jesse Rodriguez, of El Paso, said she actually got a workout while playing a motocross video game, and she said most people don't even realize they're exercising.

"You have to use your body to make the characters respond on the screen," she said.

The workout may not seem that intense, but it is. The device has much resistance and requires the use of core muscles.

"There have been people who have already told me that they dropped their heart rate average by 10 points (and) they have lost 10 to 12 pounds in two months just by using the system," Rodriguez said.

She said she has been surprised to learn that more adults than children have used the Kilowatt system.

There are kid-size systems available, as well as stationary bikes. The faster you pedal, the faster your character goes.

"It's not just using your thumbs, it's using your body," Rodriguez said.

The system is compatible with most video games. Rodriguez recommended playing tennis games, but said racing games which involve vehicles are the best.

The Kilowatt Pros cost between $500 and $1,600.
