12 Students Busted For Cocaine

Posted: 7:25 pm MST March 4, 2006

The community of San Elizario is reacting after the sheriff's office busted a drug ring at one of their middle schools.

A total of 12 students from Ann Garcia-Enriquez Middle School were put in alternative school for either purchasing, consuming, or distributing cocaine on campus.

Sheriff's officials say one student was processed into the juvenile probation department after he allegedly had the drugs on him.

The community is still in shock.

"It's a very sad situation. Just the fact that they're not grown up yet, they're still teenagers. It's just a very bad situation," said Victor Perez, of San Elizario.

The breakdown of students are: 5 males and 7 females. Ages ranging from 12 to 14-years-old
