El Paso Church Offers Free Weddings

A local church is offering free wedding services this Valentine's Day.

The Word of Life Church in east El Paso is inviting anyone who is married by a court to come in and be married in front of God.

Organizers say the group weddings will include everything from the wedding march to the exchanging of rings, without the costly expense attached to church ceremonies.

"In my view there are basically two types of weddings. There is the wedding that is based on law, and there is the wedding that is based on Christ and based on grace. We felt that those who have been married by the law, they would like to have that special privilege and benefit by being married by the church," said senior pastor Tom Brown.

If you've been married by a court and always wanted a church ceremony, you can sign up for the Feb. 12 group wedding.

Couples will need to provide a wedding license.
