More patrols may be on their way but the Minutemen have plans to stay put with their plans in Sunland Park.

The Minutemen moved into Sunland Park last month after spending 30 days patrolling the El Paso area.

The group plans to stay regardless of the fact that the area will soon see more Border Patrol agents thanks to a grant from the Department of Homeland Security.

During his visit Gov. Bill Richardson discussed the fine line between tolerating the Minutemen while keeping them safe.

"We want trained people, we appreciate the Minutmen's patriotism but I don't want them to get hurt. I don't want a bad incident, so my hope is that they don't come but if they come we have to protect them but this is the job of the federal government," Richardson said.

New Mexico is expected to receive more than 280 Border Patrol agents over the next year.
