May 26, 2005 -- A former Andress High School student now turned soldier is wounded in Iraq near Fallujah.
His mother, Rachelle rodriguez is set to leave Friday morning to Fort Hood where she will meet up with him, Sergeant William Nakaza.
Sergeant Nakasa is expected to be flown from Germany to Fort Hood. He was part of a convoy attack Sunday that left three other soldiers dead. His mother spoke with him Thursday morning.
She says he is in good spirits and is already talking about going back to Iraq, but she says it will probably be a long road to recovery because he suffered severe nerve damage to his arm.
