Immigrants Found In Railroad Box Car

Union Pacific Railroad Police find a group of undocumented Mexican immigrants in a box car bound for California.

After finding the group here in El Paso late Monday night, the railroad called Border Patrol agents who then processed the 26 immigrants.

The youngest in the group was 12 years old.

The Border Patrol says the train, heading from Arkansas, to Long Beach, California contained no food, water or other provisions for the migrants.

"Anytime we apprehend a migrant on a train, we feel that its a possible tragedy averted. Y'know its that serious and conditions in and around the train are really that dramatic. So, its something that we take very seriously," said Border Patrol Spokesperson Doug Mosier.

All but one of the immigrants were taken back to Mexico.

One woman was kept here in the U.S, because of a prior arrest.
