Beating Death Trial Starts For Las Cruces Family
Opening statements are set to start Wednesday morning in the Baby Brianna case.
Tuesday a jury was chosen and seated.
Jurors were shown at least one picture of the beaten baby.
Charged with child abuse resulting in Baby Brianna's death are her mother and father -- 20-year-old Stephanie Lopez and 22-year-old Andy Walters -- and 20-year-old uncle Steven Lopez.
Walters and Steven Lopez also are charged with criminal sexual penetration.
The baby's grandmother, Patricia Walters, and uncle, Robert Walters junior, are charged with failure to report child abuse.
KFOX News at Nine's Ben Swann, who covered the story when it broke last July, will be in Albuquerque for opening statements.
