EL PASO, Texas -- Season ticket holders are grabbing tickets for the UTEP vs. Butler game Thursday in San Jose, Calif., and NMSU vs. Michigan State Friday in Spokane, WA.UTEP officials said tickets for the Miners gam NCAA Tournament game are selling fast. There were roughly 500 tickets available for sale Monday, according to the university’s athletic director, Bob Stull.Season ticket holders had the first chance to buy tickets Monday. By the afternoon, ticket officials said only 150 tickets were left. Those tickets will go on sale starting 8 a.m. Tuesday. Of the tickets left, 100 will be available for the general public and 50 will be available for students, said Brian Wickstrom, Senior Associate A.D./External Relations with UTEP.Representatives at Sun Travel said the phones there have been constantly ringing with people interested in booking travel to attend Thursday's game.Sun Travel employees did not comment on-camera but told KFOX some of the airline tickets cost as much as $600. They said some fans paid the price while others opted to drive.Tickets are also going fast at New Mexico State University. Aggie fans haven't stopped calling the box office reserving their seat at the big dance, said assistant manager at the ticket office, Yvonne Lopez said. "Right now I think we have over a hundred orders already and the calls are still coming in," she said.Those 100 tickets sold in the first hour alone, said Lopez. Only 100 to 150 tickets are left.
