LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- A man told police he found a half-clothed man sitting in the back seat of his car early Thursday morning.

The man told police he was leaving work when he noticed the passenger window of his car broken, feces on the passenger floorboard, and 18-year-old Austin Horries Purifoy sitting with his pants and underwear pulled down.

Purifoy got out and ran away when the man opened the car door, police said.

Las Cruces police officers found him a short time later in a nearby ditch and arrested him.

Purifoy was charged with one count each of burglary of a vehicle and criminal damage to property.
