LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Whether you're packing boxes, answering phone calls or filing paperwork, there may be a job for you with the United States Census Bureau. The Las Cruces office covers 12 counties throughout southern New Mexico. They've already employed hundreds and are looking to add another 1,200. About 600 of those vacancies will be in Dona Ana County. Rachel Garcia-Banegas who manages the office in Las Cruces said most positions require 40-hour weeks, but now since the census is working on the weekends, they are flexible and even college students are welcomed.“We pay more than minimum wage. For the clerks we pay $9 (per hour), for field work it's $11, and there's a lot of supervisory positions throughout the 12 counties,” said Garcia-Banegas.For more information on how to get a job with the census bureau, just click here.
