Man Impersonating El Paso Fire Investigator Arrested

El Paso Fire Marshals arrested a man Thursday after they said he was caught impersonating a public servant.

Investigators found Jaime Lee Carreto at Bel Air High School after school officials questioned him.

Carreto had gone to the school disguised as a fire investigator seeking information about high school fires. He was found wearing a fire department uniform.

EPFD Investigators had been looking for Carreto for several previous incidents in which he presented himself to the public as a member of the El Paso Fire Department.

The public is being asked to call the El Paso Fire Department at 915-771-1090 if they've had contact with Carreto.

Impersonating a public servant is a third degree felony which is punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison and/or up to $10,000 fine.
