Las Cruces Couple's Argument Ends With Stab Wounds

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- A Las Cruces woman is being accused of stabbing her boyfriend during a heated argument.When police arrived at Yvette Garcia's apartment on Oak Street at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, they found her boyfriend suffering from a stab wound to his upper back, said police.An investigation revealed Garcia and the victim were arguing over a number in her cell phone. At some point during the argument, the victim was attempting to leave the apartment when Garcia followed and struck him with a knife, police said.He was taken to Memorial Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.Garcia, 46, was charged with one count of aggravated battery against a household member.
