Las Cruces Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 16-Year-Old Girl

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- A 47-year-old Las Cruces man was arrested after police said he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl.Sergio Mireles went to the home of the girl Saturday while she was home alone, said detectives. Police told KFOX Mireles began making sexually suggestive references and then sexually assaulted her.Police also said Mireles knew the family of the girl.The girl was able to leave and contact police. Mireles was arrested at his home and charged with one third-degree felony count of criminal sexual penetration and two fourth-degree felony counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor.
