EL PASO, Texas -- Strong gusts blew into the Borderland Monday, as the area remained under a high wind advisory most of the day.The KFOX Severe Weather Center clocked gusts upwards of 60 miles per hour Monday afternoon.“I mean a little breeze here and there is OK, but this wind it's like pressure and you can see I'm having trouble standing," said Karina Herrera, a northeast El Paso resident.Trees, flags and residents could be seen swaying with each mounting gust."Yesterday was so nice, and today it’s like eww, wind, terrible,” said Carol Attel, another northeast residentThe electric sign on the Walgreens on Dyer Street in the northeast read 51 degrees at about 6:30 Monday evening, but the wind-chill factor made it feel much colder."It's just been awful, just a lot of gusts, you can't really see anything. I've been sick for the past couple of days, and it’s just been really hard," said resident Peter Garcia.Emergency officials remind residents to be alert while driving and walking. Strong gusts can pick up at any moment causing sudden pushes on people and vehicles.
