Toyota has announced another round of recalls worldwide. Nearly 150,000 cars will be taken off the road in the U.S. alone, as the company works to fix its latest safety problem. The two models recalled in the U.S. are the 2010 popular Prius and the 2010 Lexus HS 250-h. The safety concern this time around has to do with a faulty brake system."For the customers who have used our vehicles, we do apologize for the inconvenience,” said Toyota’s president Akio Toyoda.Toyoda announced the recall affecting thousands of its hybrid vehicles Tuesday afternoon in the Japanese capital. As KFOX reported, this recall comes on top of about 8 million vehicles already recalled worldwide. "We would like to take this opportunity, Toyota, to go back to our original point, which is quality is our lifeline for Toyota and improve our quality and I myself will take the leadership on the field,” added Toyoda.A delay in braking on the hybrid prompted the recall. It's been fixed in models built after January; however, no repair has been put out for models manufactured before that. The recall on both the Lexus and Prius will update software in the vehicle's ABS in an effort to help prevent the wheels from locking and the car from skidding in certain road conditions.Toyota owners will only receive a letter if their vehicle is involved in the recall. Prius owners should be receiving letters next week and Lexus HS 250-h owners in a couple of weeks.
