Woman Dies In Crash Near Silver City, NM

EL PASO, Texas -- New Mexico State Police said a woman from Truth or Consequences died in a crash Friday evening.

Police said it happened on State Road 35 north of Silver City.

According to police Torrie Woods-Grijalva, 31 , drove her truck off the road, crossing the northbound lanes, and then crossing back. Eventually she hit a tree and then rolled the vehicle, said police.

Officers said she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and was thrown from the truck.

A 27-year-old passenger was taken to Jila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, where he was treated and released.
