EL PASO, Texas -- Check your medicine cabinet. You may need to pull a few things out.McNeil Consumer Healthcare is recalling several over –the-counter drugs which include forms of Tylenol, Benadryl Allergy Ultratab, Motrin, Rolaids, Simply Sleep, and St. Joseph. "I haven't bought Tylenol in quite a while, so this if the first of I've heard of it," said Hazel Lundeen. The brands are being recalled because people have been complaining of an unusual moldy, musty, mildew-like smell has been coming from the drugs. Some people have complained of nausea, stomache pain, vomiting, and diarrhea after taking the medication. "I'm really surprised. It’s kind of reminiscent of those 70s and 80s incidents where there were actual things that were poisons, put into the Tylenol," Lundeen.Poison is not suspected here. Instead Mcneil company leaders said the smell is coming from trace amounts of the chemical called 2-4-6 Tribromoanisole or TBA. It's a chemical that's used in wood pallets that help transport or store the medicines.Anyone who has the product should check mcneilproductrecall.com to see if it contaminated. Those who have the contaminated products should contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare or call 888-222-6036. If you have adverse reactions to the product you should contact the Food And Drug Administration’s Medwatch by fax at 1-800-FDA-0178 or mail at Medwatch, FDA, 5600 Fisher’s Lane, Rockville, MD 20852-9787.
