EL PASO, Texas -- The Public Service Board held a public meeting on Wednesday evening to discuss the development of a stormwater master plan for the county of El Paso. The flooding problem areas are located in Vinton, Canutillo, Fabens, Tornillo and Socorro. Some of the problems are arroyos emptying out in residential areas and damaging homes. The meeting on Wednesday is the second of three to discuss the solutions to the problems found by engineers. Each location like Socorro and Fabens will have several possible solutions to the flooding problem. And the public's input is necessary for further action."Once we get that, the team will go back and they will work for another few months with the input and also looking at a list of qualifications put all the solutions into a priority list," said Christina Montoya, the vice president of marketing and communications for the El Paso Water Utilities. These are just the beginning stages before the projects are funded and scheduled for construction. The next meeting is scheduled for April 13 and the public is encouraged to go.
