EL PASO, Texas -- Because of the falling snow and the hazardous driving conditions, a lot of El Pasoans started their work and school day late and some didn't start it at all.It was still snowing on Tuesday morning in East El Paso. While most schools started classes a few hours late, pedestrians and traffic at schools was minimal."They had a two-hour delay, then a three-hour delay. We all decided to play hooky and play here at Album," said Ana Alvarez from East El Paso.Alvarez and her nieces and nephews, like many people, declared their own snow day. They spent the day building snowmen and having snowball fights. An East El Paso woman said she skipped work because she didn't think it was safe to drive. Our KFOX cameras caught some mild flooding near Montwood and Wedgewood that created hazardous driving conditions. But it didn't stop some people from having fun in the snow."I love it right now. I'm taking advantage that it snowed so I love it," said Alvarez.El Paso Independent School District and Socorro ISD officials will excuse students who were absent on Tuesday.
