Holiday Jobs Availale In Borderland, But Not As Many

Need a job? Perhaps helping out in a store could earn you some extra cash, and Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande leaders say they are getting more job posting for seasonal help.

"Right now, in El Paso we are going to see gains in employment in some sectors because the holiday season is coming and those will be mostly in retail and leisure, in hotels," said David Coronado, a job market analyst with Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande.

However, Coronado warned the job market is still tight. He said the organization is not seeing as many seasonal job offerings as they saw last year. He said there are about 1,000 fewer jobs than there were around this time in 2008 and 2007.
