EL PASO, Texas -- A New Mexico man was killed early Sunday morning after he apparently entered the incomplete Spur 601 highway and then drove off the uncompleted roadway.The driver’s older Ford LTD plummeted about 25 feet before it landed near the intersection of Chaffee and Fred Wilson in northeast El Paso.Police have not identified the 67-year-old driver. He was the only person found inside the vehicle when emergency crews arrived."We all know about this whole situation of construction here and we all take precaution,” said Juan Chavez, an area resident. "There are a lot of signs and stuff to let you know there is construction."Police have not disclosed if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
