EL PASO, Texas -- A man who was struck by a pickup while he crossed a downtown street was announced dead, said police.Miguel Carlos Corona, 60, was crossing Sante Fe Street Thursday around 2:14 p.m. when he was struck a pickup truck driven by David Hernandez-Prieto.El Paso police said Hernandez-Prieto was westbound on Missouri and had made a southbound turn onto Santa Fe when he collided with pedestrian-Corona who was on the roadway.Corona was taken to University Medical Center where he died. He becomes the 11th pedestrian fatality of 2009 as compared to 12 at this same time in 2008.
