Police have identified a man who died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning. Investigators told KFOX that U.S. Army officials have notified the family of 23-year-old Daniel Calhoun.

Police said the driver of a 1999 Ford Explorer was likely speeding when he took the curve on Paisano near San Antonio. Calhoun lost control of the SUV, which, crossed Paisano and slammed into a wall and a parked car.

"It took almost an hour before they actually got the body into the back of a van to transport it to the morgue,” said Anthony Hernandez, who saw the aftermath. "People don't slow down because they think this road is going to be a narrow straight."

A Montana Vista man was killed Saturday while he was riding his motorcycle. Scott O’Leary, 43, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck driven by his brother, Douglas O'Leary, 49.

Douglas O'Leary was charged with drunken driving, but not held responsible for the crash.

The most serious crash, however, this week killed four young people in east El Paso. Ashley Gonzalez, Jesse Acosta, Lance Mireles and Brian Chavez were all killed in a three vehicle crash on Thursday. Their friend Michael Fraley, 21, was allegedly behind the wheel drunk.

There have been 58 traffic fatalities this year in the city of El Paso. There were 52 traffic fatalities at this same time last year.

Special Traffic Investigations (STI) has determined that speed is a factor in Calhoun's crash and other contributing factors are under investigation. Calhoun was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
