EL PASO, Texas -- Alcohol, speeding and a lack of seat belts are all believed to be factors in the crash that killed four young people and sent five others to the hospital.And now, a 21-year-old man faces four counts of intoxicated manslaughter. The victims are Brian Chavez, 21, Ashley Gonzalez, 19, Jesse Acosta, 20 and Lance Mireles, 20.It happened right before 1 a.m. on Thursday on the stretch of Zaragosa between Rich Beem and Montana.Police believe Michael Fraley, 21, lost control of his Toyota Tacoma and set things in motion.Police believe Fraley was intoxicated and was speeding, lost control and clipped a Dodge Neon, throwing it off balance and causing it to skid sideways into oncoming traffic.That's when a Buick Century T-boned the Neon killing four of the five occupants.The driver of the Neon was wearing his seat belt and died at the scene, the three passengers who also died were not. A 16-year-old girl survived the impact.The Tacoma rolled four times sending three of the occupants, including the driver, to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Buick was also taken to the hospital.Frailey is charged with intoxicated manslaughter."The charge is a second-degree felony, which is intoxicated manslaughter. There might also be some other charges, in this case, intoxicated assault for the people injured."The crash now brings the total number of traffic deaths this year to 57 compared to 52 at this time last year.
