Dreams Come True For Victims Of Alleged Princess Party Fraud

It was a far cry from the original party, Sunday was a chance to make up for a number of little girls' princess parties that didn't happen.

When Teresa Uribe Ortiz found out about the allegations against Laura Gonzalez, who was supposed to put on little girls' parties, but apparently never showing up, Uribe Ortiz decided to step in.

"I do parties for little girls and little boys. I specialize in princesses' parties,” Uribe Ortiz said. "So right away I called, KFOX and told (them) I wanted to do a princess party."

So Uribe Ortiz put on the party Sunday with the help of many different businesses in the El Paso area.

"As soon as we walked in, (my daughter’s) face changed. I mean, you could see that light again, she was very happy and excited," said Rachel Salazar, a mother that hired Gonzalez.

For the little girls, who had been so sad and hurt, it was a chance to have tea, dance and eat and have the fairy tale party they didn't.

"I wanted to celebrate her first birthday but the princesses didn't show up, and right now she is very happy with the celebration," said Gabriela Gonzalez, another mother allegedly ripped off by Laura Gonzalez.

For the parents, it was a chance to give their daughter’s the dream that they missed.

"It's not so much about how many people she's ripped off, it's how many little girls she's disappointed and let down," said Pasty Garcia, another alleged victim.

The following donated to the princess party: Dreams Come True Princess Parties, Gumballs Party Hall, Bowie Bakery, Build-A-Bear, Chair Cover by Ceci, Catering by Aida S Cuisine and Patricia Uribe.
