EL PASO, Texas -- A 29-year-old man is killed while crossing the street in central El Paso Saturday evening.

Police said Kalani Jay Lone Wolf, 29, was crossing the street on the 1900 block of Paisano just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a car.

Police said Victor Maldonado, 72, was driving a 1993 blue Toyota Previa when he hit Lone Wolf.

Special Traffic Investigators were called out to the scene and found Lone Wolf did not cross at a cross walk.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, according to police.

This is the 53rd pedestrian fatality in 2009 as compared to 52 at the same time last year.
