EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso Police and seven other agencies bust an auto theft ring in the lower valley on Thursday.The Auto theft task force charged 13 people with engaging in organized criminal activity for their roles in the auto theft ring. Four of them were detained at the warehouse during time of the bust others were found through out El Paso. Six arrests are still pending.SWAT members burst in to a warehouse on the 1000 block of Kessler. Five vehicles were found complete and everything else were vehicle parts, all of them stolen Hondas and Accuras.The arrests stemmed from a year-long investigation. Authorities believe this organization has ties to La Linea, a cell of the Juarez drug cartel."At this point we have two individuals being confirmed that are fugitives. They are in Juarez. We can't name them but we have a direct correlation with these two individuals with this organization that we seized yesterday," said Lt. Mark Medina with the El Paso County Auto Theft Task Force.Authorities said the estimated value of all that was recovered is half a million dollars.
