KFOX told you about the U.S. Marines "Toys for Tots" program losing its Fort Bliss warehouse.

A local company stepped in to make sure El Paso's needy children have a merry Christmas.

Up until this week, extra space became available at El Paso's Ready One Industries. When the company heard the U.S. Marines had lost their warehouse and the Toys for Tots program was in trouble, they donated an unused section of their warehouse.

It's really close to the dock door, so they will be able to use our facility to load and unload. And we are going to provide equipment if needed and on top of that. We are going to be donating boxes they will be using and collecting and distributing the toys,” said Cynthia Deharo.

The company manufactures clothing and their biggest client is the U.S. military.

“The “Toys for Tots” program has been going on since 1947 promoted by U.S. Marines and we are so happy to try and be a part of what they are trying to do. We understand El Paso has not been contributing as much as other parts of the country. And we hope to change that,” said Tom Ahmann.

The “Toys for Tots” drive kicks off Thursday at Toys 'R Us and Babies 'R Us locations.

KFOX is a proud sponsor of the program.

Friday morning, the KFOX Morning News will have live reports from 5 a.m. - 8 a.m.

You can also drop off your donation (toy) at the KFOX Studio located at 6004 N. Mesa, El Paso, Texas.
