Posted: 4:45 pm MST November 4, 2009Updated: 5:17 pm MST November 4, 2009

Border Patrol agents jump into action to rescue a stranded pregnant woman from Horseshoe Canyon.

Officials said an El Salvadoran migrant and his wife were abandoned in the desert near Apache, Ariz.

The man was forced to leave his wife to get help.

Due to the rough terrain, officials had to create a makeshift gurney and carry the woman 1.5 miles, where a life-net helicopter brought her to Tucson Medical Center.

She's being treated for exposure and dehydration.
