EL PASO, Texas -- Longtime Washington newsman Sam Donaldson returned to his roots here on the borderland Monday to talk about a new Bachelor of Arts Degree being offered by UTEP.

The university will become one of the first in the nation to offer a multimedia journalism degree, which will focus on how to present news through a variety of platforms including the Internet.

Donaldson, himself a UTEP graduate, said today's students could play a crucial role in figuring out how news organizations can make money on the Web, which is currently a struggle.
