Fire officials release new information about the abandoned property that was on fire Monday.

Lt. Mario Hernandez with the El Paso Fire Department told KFOX the fire was ruled arson by investigators.

The property located at 300 Place Road in Socorro has had a total of eight fires, said Hernandez.

Three families adjacent to the burning home had to be evacuated as firefighters tried to control the blaze that engulfed the home.
