Mario Hernandez, the infant was left in the bathtub when a guardian walked away for a minute to grab a bath towel. The incident happened on the 9500 block of Dyer Ave around 12 p.m., Tuesday.Hernandez told KFOX the guardian was coached over the phone to administer CPR by a dispatch operator. The 10-month old was taken to University Medical Center.Conditions are unknown at this time.Fire Officials offer these bathtub safety tips:• Never leave young children alone near any water. Young children can drown in even small amounts of water. • Always keep a young child within arm's reach in a bathtub. Never leave to answer the phone, answer the door, get a towel or for any other reason. If you must leave, take the child with you. • Don't leave a baby or toddler in a bathtub under the care of another young child. • Learn CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). It can be a lifesaver when seconds count.
