UTEP Swimming Center To Get Millions In Improvements

The University of Texas at El Paso’s swimming and fitness center is getting multimillion-dollar improvements.

Thursday was the groundbreaking for the $32 million new addition that will have an indoor running track, rock climbing wall, expanded exercise area, plus an indoor soccer arena, racquetball courts and a room for basketball and volleyball.

The existing center will also undergo renovations.

The 90,000-square-foot project is expected to be completed in 18 months.
